This year, Riley Blake Designs released a new free quilt pattern that features 2 of their Basics collections: the bright and colorful POParazzi collection and the latest collection of low volume novelty prints, Hush Hush 3.

This free pattern is called Shine Together. It’s a beautiful star design with large blocks that come together quickly. The assorted star centers create a modern quilt block sampler.

As part of the release of the Shine Together pattern, Riley Blake is hosting a sew along from January 12 to March 15. Every Friday they will walk through the steps on making one of the large Star blocks.

In addition, each week will include 2 other free 6″ x 6″ blocks by assorted Riley Blake Designers that can be swapped out for the star centers to give your quit more customized personality.

RILEY BLAKE LOW VOLUME + BLENDER BASICS

As I mentioned, this pattern features two new sets of fabric Basics from Riley Blake Designs. The backgrounds all come from the latest collection Hush Hush 3.

This is the third collection of “low volume” prints – meaning they are a varied collection of whimsical prints on a white, cream, or neutral print fabrics. My contribution this year is the fun pinwheel print.

The POParazzi print comes in a HUGE range of colors and shades. The Fat Quarter Shop has the whole range of colors, or you could get a FQ Bundle or stack of 10″ precuts to give you a big variety of blenders to mix into any project. They’re a great tone-on-tone blender.
