Chroma Color Rainbow Zip Pouches {quick gifts and a publication!}

It's that time of year when we all start thinking of buying or making gifts for our loved ones.  Today I'm happy to share some cute zippered pouches that are quick and easy to sew and the patterns can be found in Love Patchwork & Quilting's latest Issue 54.  This issue is on news stands now in the UK and will be soon in the US (or you can purchase a digital copy now by following the link). If you're looking for ideas to clear out those overflowing scrap bins, make sure to get a copy of this issue!  It's full of scrap projects - big and small.  That red and white cover quilt by Susan has now been added to my ever growing "must make" list.

Now about those pouches...I paired Alison Glass's gorgeous Chroma fabric with Art Gallery's denim in Wicked Sky.  I think Alison Glass does color better than anyone.  Those deeply saturated tones, stacked in rainbow order makes me so happy :)

When designing these pouches, I wanted to make sure they would be large enough to be useful.  The boxed bottoms were key in making them versatile for so many things.

Even the small size can hold larger and wider items just by having a boxed bottom.  And aren't the bright zippers so fun with these fabrics?

At the end of the school year in May, my son (with my help) tested out the large pouch pattern for a teacher gift.  Below is proof that these are beginner friendly patterns.  He installed that zipper like a pro!

The fabrics he chose were various shades of blue from my scrap bin paired with Essex linen.  Insert a gift card or some bath and body stuff and you've got an even better gift!

He was proud to deliver this to his teacher and she was happy to receive it :)

What are your favorite quick gifts to make at this time of year?
